Meet Shawna Simmons, who has dedicated the past 19 years of her career to Bancroft and our mission. She currently works at the Bancroft School on Welsh Campus where she empowers students daily to be their best selves- read her interview below!
Q: What inspired you to become a DSP?
Honestly, I enjoy helping people and this was a perfect way to help others grow to their best potential.
Q: Describe the impact you make on the lives of the individuals and families you’ve met.
Throughout the years I have enjoyed working with the individuals I care for, witnessing their progress has been very rewarding.
Q: What lessons have you learned throughout your career?
I have learned that patience and persistence is very helpful when working with the individuals we care for.
Q: What is the biggest advice you have for new DSP’s?
My biggest advice for new Bancroft hires- would be although this job has its challenges, it is also very rewarding.
