What to expect during your interview and onboarding at Bancroft
Deciding to take that jump into a new career path is exciting, but we know sometimes it can be nerve-wracking. To help you better prepare for a career at Bancroft, we put together a helpful guide illustrating what most candidates experience in the interview process and the early stages of onboarding.
Starting your journey
Applying and interviewing for a job at Bancroft
You’ll apply through our job portal, which will require you to create a login. Be sure to record your username and password so you can check in on the status of your application(s). On average the application process takes about 15 minutes.
After submitting your application, a Bancroft Talent Acquisition Partner will call you to discuss the job you applied for, or suggest other positions that may be a good fit based on your experience. They will ask you more about your work experience and provide you with an overview of the position and its requirements. This is a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have.
If you qualify based on your phone screening, you will be scheduled to interview with the hiring manager either in person or video. Here you will learn more about the day-to-day of the job and expectations. You’ll have a chance to talk in more detail about questions you have and get a feel for the program in which you’d be working and the staff you’d be working with.
Depending on the role, a second round of interviews may be required in order for you to spend more time observing the team at work, so that you have a better idea of the role. Your recruiter will work directly with you to schedule any follow-up interviews.
After completing all interviews and the team agrees you’d be a great addition, the recruiter will reach out with a verbal offer followed by a written offer via email.
Congratulations!
You got the job! What’s next? To help you prepare for your first day at Bancroft, we put together a helpful guide below illustrating the onboarding process and what to expect after you’ve signed your offer letter.
Onboarding at Bancroft
Once you sign off on the written offer, you’ll complete a series of checks including criminal background check, physical and drug screening. The nature of our work at Bancroft requires these checks. Your recruiter will send you an email with everything you need to complete these steps. Be sure to read it carefully. We are here to help guide you through this process if you have any questions or concerns. This process typically takes around 2 weeks.
New Staff Orientation is your boot camp of sorts to make sure you have all the information you need to start your job successfully. You’ll learn more about Bancroft, our Core Values and policies as well as trainings important to your particular role, such as CPR certifications. NSO is typically one week at our training facility in Cherry Hill, NJ (corporate employees need only attend day one of NSO).
Each Bancroft program has specific on-the-job training that includes shadowing, special training sessions and online modules to complete. This typically lasts for 3-6 weeks, with additional and ongoing trainings with your colleagues throughout the year.
Now that you’re part of the team, we encourage you to explore all the growth opportunities that exist.
Ongoing Support
We encourage our employees to take note of their Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), a special advocate assigned to help you with any questions you have about your job and benefits.
You can grow your career at Bancroft through leadership development, tuition reimbursement, and training opportunities.
